Verifying Your Enrollment

If you need an official document from the university to verify your full-time/part-time enrollment status or degree completion for items such as:
- Student loan deferment
- Employment
- Outside scholarships
- Health insurance
- Car insurance
- Visas
Current students, former students, and alumni may obtain either an instant verification of enrollment or an official verification of enrollment at transcripts.rutgers.edu.
- Current students will require a NetID to access the site to make a request.
- Former students and alumni may access transcripts.rutgers.edu by using their RUID number or Social Security Number. If you forgot your RUID number, go to identityservices.rutgers.edu to retrieve it.
Fees
There is no charge to request a verification of enrollment.
Verification of Enrollment Delivery Options
By Mail
Request a verification of enrollment by going to transcripts.rutgers.edu. In the "Special Instructions" section, tell us where we should send the verification of enrollment.
If a form needs to be included with the verification of enrollment, please email the form to registrar@newark.rutgers.edu or fax it to (973) 353-1357.
By Pick Up
Request a verification of enrollment by going to transcripts.rutgers.edu. Under "Delivery Options," select which campus you would like to pick up the verification of enrollment from.
Please allow three to five business days for ALL processing from the date the Office of the Registrar, Rutgers University–Newark, receives your transfer request. For international requests, please allow up to three weeks to receive a verification of enrollment by postal mail.

Bring the deferment letter from your lending institution to the Office of the Registrar. The registrar's staff will generate a verification of enrollment, complete the form, and send it to your lending institution. You may also scan and send the form to regsr@rtugers.edu. Please be sure to complete the "Student Information Section" and include your signature.

How long does it take to receive a verification of enrollment?

There are two ways to request a verification of enrollment. Go to transcripts.rutgers.edu, and select either of the following:
- Get Instant Verification of Enrollment: This option can be saved to your computer and printed on the spot.
- Official Verification: This option is a hard copy printed at the university. You can pick it up, or we can send it via postal mail, which takes three to five business days to process.
