Information Sessions
Learn more about re-enrolling and get all your questions answered by attending one of our virtual or in-person information sessions. Attendance at both types of events is highly recommended, as each serves a different purpose. Whether you're just exploring your options or ready to re-enroll, these sessions will provide key insights in the re-enrollment process.
Virtual Sessions (via Webex)
The virtual sessions will provide crucial information on new programs and policies being implemented for Spring 2025, followed by a Q&A segment. Upon registering for the virtual sessions, you will receive an email confirming your registration that will contain a link to the session.

In-Person Sessions
The in-person sessions will give you the chance to meet one-on-one with representatives from various student success offices—such as Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Student Accounting, and more—all in one convenient space. Upon registering for an in-person session, you will receive an email confirming your registration with further instructions for securing parking for the event.

Re-Enrollment Process
Your Path Back to Rutgers University-Newark
If you were an undergraduate student who was admitted, matriculated, and enrolled at Rutgers University for at least one semester and decided to take a break for a semester or more and are seeking to return to complete your undergraduate degree requirements, you would need to complete the Re-Enrollment Application before December 15, 2024*.
*Submission deadlines for re-enrollment applications differ per school. Specific application timelines can be found here.

If you were a graduate student who was admitted, matriculated, and enrolled at Rutgers University for at least one semester and decided to take a break for a semester or more and you want to return to complete your graduate degree, please reach out directly to your academic program for re-enrollment details.

Program Overview
- Have been admitted and matriculated into a Rutgers University–Newark undergraduate degree-seeking program and then had to take a break
- Have a break in enrollment at Rutgers-Newark for one (1) or more consecutive fall and spring semesters
- Have earned sixty (60) credits or more at Rutgers University–Newark towards your first bachelor’s degree
- Have an earned Rutgers University–Newark GPA of 2.0 or better
- Have an outstanding balance from prior semesters due to the university before having to stop out of $100 to $2,500
- Be a current resident in the state of New Jersey
