Come Home!

In This Section

Rutgers University-Newark is committed to supporting students throughout their academic journey. After your admission to the university, you may have needed to take a break or time away from your academic journey due to life events and circumstances. Not to worry, we are here to help you re-enroll so that you can complete your academic journey and earn your degree.

Rutgers University-Newark provides you a number of ways to come back home and re-enroll. Starting in Fall 2022, if you are re-enrolling for full-time status (12 credits+), and qualify for in-state tuition with more than 60 earned credits, you may qualify for the Garden State Guarantee or RUN to the TOP

If you have taken an academic break for more than four consecutive semesters, have an outstanding balance from prior enrollment and have earned 60 credits, you may qualify for the RUN Rising Program.

If you have never enrolled in Rutgers-Newark, you can explore options for enrolling with the Office of Summer & Winter Sessions and the Office of Undergraduate & Graduate Admissions.

You can also learn more about re-enrolling at Rutgers-Newark by attending one of the various information sessions listed below.

We hope to see you soon and welcome you home!

Office of Summer & Winter Sesisons

The Office of Summer & Winter Sessions provides academic opportunities at RU-Newark in the Summer and Winter Session. During the Summer, over 300 online, in-person, or hybrid courses are offered in two 6-week sessions. Some courses are also available in 12-week formats.

With an accelerated meeting schedule, the Summer Session offers students the opportunity to take advantage of smaller class sizes, a convenient location, and flexible course schedules. The summer is the ideal time for students to accelerate time to graduation, improve their GPA, explore a subject of interest, or reduce next semester’s course work.
