Application

Students seeking to re-enter the university to complete their degree requirements or seek a second undergraduate degree will need to complete the following online application as part of the re-enrollment process. If you have applied for re-enrollment, you can check the status of your re-enrollment application online. Re-enrollment applications must be completed and submitted before re-enrollment deadlines.

Criteria for Re-Enrollment

To be eligible for re-enrollment, you must meet the following general criteria.

General Criteria

  • You must have completed a minimum of one (1) academic term as a matriculated student at Rutgers University.
  • Any student previously enrolled in any of the Rutgers undergraduate divisions may apply for re-enrollment after a leave of absence of at least one semester.
  • Students in good academic standing at their college before withdrawal will receive registration instructions in the notification message to re-enrolling students.
  • Any academic conditions will be included in the notification message we send to re-enrolling applicants.
  • Students re-enrolled with non-matriculated status may earn a maximum of 15 credits and must maintain good academic standing in accordance with the school/college.
  • Students who have been academically dismissed are not permitted to re-enroll in their academic programs through this process.

Disciplinary Status

  • You must indicate on your applications if you have been or are currently under review for disciplinary action, judicial sanction, or a violation of the academic integrity policy at your present school.
  • The university registrar will automatically forward your Rutgers academic transcript to the college after you submit your online application for re-enrollment.
  • You must also provide copies of other college transcripts or academic records. Submit transcript(s) to:

Required Documents

  • The Office of the Registrar at the Rutgers University–Newark campus will automatically record your Rutgers University academic transcript after your acceptance for re-enrollment at Rutgers University–Newark.
  • We may ask you for copies of other college transcripts. If requested, you must forward them to:

Foreign Language Study

  • You must show evidence of two years of sequential foreign language study in high school or one year of sequential foreign language study at the college level.
  • If you have academic credentials from a foreign country, you must have these credentials evaluated by World Education Services, www.wes.org. Submit the credit evaluation to:
