Tax Deductions and Your Tuition Statement

In This Section

With your tuition payments statement, you may be eligible for a tax deduction.

Rutgers is required by federal law to report to you and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) certain information concerning your status on the 1098-T Tuition Statement tax form.

When you or an authorized representative are ready to file your tax returns, the 1098-T is available online at the Tax Statements website (Rutgers NetID and password required to log in).

Note: Filing a 1098-T does not mean you will receive a tax deduction. Speak with a tax advisor to find out if you are eligible.
