An international student who has been issued an F-1 student visa is allowed to enter the United States and maintain status as a full time student at an accredited academic institution. International students on an F-1 student visa are funded by personal sources or sponsored by the University.

Our International Student Advisors remain available by email. The majority of student questions can be answered by email. Please send your questions to us at oiss@newark.rutgers.edu and an OISS staff member will get back to you at the earliest.

If you are inquiring about an admission status, please direct all questions to newintl@newark.rutgers.edu.

Remote Appointments
In lieu of walk-ins hours, we are able to provide remote appointments through WebEx to answer quick questions (15 minutes or less). If more time is needed, the International Student Advisor assisting you can schedule additional time.

Please be advised that remote appointments are for current Rutgers - Newark F-1 and J-1 students and scholars ONLY.

E-forms
All student requests can be submitted online via the RGlobal portal. Please review the menu of services provided and let us know if you have any questions/requests that are not provided.

We understand that this time may be stressful for you. The situation is evolving, and we expect to return to our standard operating procedures in a matter of time.
