PART-TIME STUDENTS |
The Student Health Insurance plan is optional for part-time students and the premium is not added to the term bill. |
Waiving?
If you have comprehensive health insurance, you may complete the waiver form each semester before the deadline. Spring 2023 deadline is February 10, 2023.
- Visit www.universityhealthplans.com to waive, view deadlines dates/insurance rates.
- Follow the “after completion of the waiver form” guidelines about the removal of the health insurance premium on the term bill.
- If you fail to waive before the deadline, you will be responsible for paying the premium on the term bill even though you have health insurance. Please note that if the waiver deadline is missed, you can appeal by following the deadline and process via www.universityhealthplans.com, however, submitting an appeal does not guarantee approval.
- For waiver inquiries after the deadline, you must visit www.universityhealthplans.com for specific guidelines.

Enrolling?
Paying the premium on the term bill is not enrolling. You must complete the enrollment form each semester before the deadline to finalize the process.
- Visit www.universityhealthplans.com to enroll, view deadlines dates/insurance rates, benefits and how to get your insurance card.
- Follow the “after completion of the enrollment form” guidelines, which includes the timeline on how to get your insurance card.
- If you fail to enroll before the deadline, you will be automatically enrolled. The automatic enrollment process can take several weeks, which will delay access to your insurance card. Be proactive and enroll before the deadline; avoid having to pay out of pocket expenses for medical care and then seeking reimbursement.
