As a new international student, you may open a Checking and/or Saving bank account in the U.S. with the following documentation:
- Rutgers Admission Letter
- Passport with visa
- Original I-20 or DS-2019
- Your own U.S. residence address (Note: Please do NOT use OISS or any other Rutgers office address for your banking account. It is illegal to use any address other than your own without consent according to U.S. federal law.)
On Google map, type "banks near Rutgers Newark", you will find the following banks within walking distance from Rutgers Newark campus and several other banks:
- Bank of America
- Chase Bank
- Citibank
- PNC Bank (PNC has ATM machines on Rutgers campus)
- Wells Fargo Bank
