Getting to Rutgers - Newark from Newark Liberty International Airport (New Jersey)

Newark Liberty International Airport

The Newark Liberty International Airport is located five miles from the Rutgers - Newark campus. A minibus (Newark Airlink) or taxi service connects the airport with Penn Station in Newark. Bus, city subway and taxi connections are available at the station. Seek taxi service from the designated taxi dispatch area. Please, do not accept a ride from any other sections of the airport. You can expect the trip to Rutgers - Newark to cost approximately $25.00 USD from Newark Liberty International Airport.

Train service (NJ Transit) is available directly from Newark Liberty International Airport to Newark Penn Station. Follow signs to Air Train to go to Newark Airport Train Station. The staff at the train station will be able to assist you with buying your ticket and can direct you to the correct train track. From the Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station, be sure to get off at Newark Penn Station.

Once you reach Newark Penn Station, you can either walk (about 20 minutes), take a taxi, or transfer to the Newark Light Rail (to Grove Street) and get off at the second stop at Washington Street.

Getting to Rutgers - Newark from John F. Kennedy International Airport (New York)

JFK International Airport

Seek taxi service from the designated taxi dispatch area.  Do not accept a ride from any other sections of the airport.  It is very important that you ask the driver approximately how much the trip will cost before you get into the taxi. (CAUTION:  sometimes drivers take advantage of unsuspecting people.)  You can expect the trip to Rutgers - Newark to cost approximately $150.00 - $250.00 USD from JFK.  Tell the driver you would like to be taken to the address where you will be staying.
