Transfer Student Contact Information

The Transfer Academic Credit System (TrAC) will help you enter, track, and follow courses and credits from past colleges/universities and learn how they may transfer to Rutgers University–Newark. To help you use and understand TrAC, we have created a TrAC tutorial video and TrAC tutorial pdf.

After you enter your information into Transfer Academic Credit System (TrAC) and an academic advisor reviews your information, you can review your transfer credit evaluation to see how your courses and credits from your past college/university have transferred to Rutgers University–Newark. Transfer to RU-N – Explanation of how RU-N accepts transfer credits

If you are currently attending a New Jersey Community College (NJCC) and/or other New Jersey–based institution and are interested in transferring to Rutgers University–Newark, you should utilize NJ Transfer. With NJ Transfer, you can learn how courses may transfer to many college and/or universities across New Jersey. NJ Transfer provides comprehensive information for any transfer student.

Per the NJ statewide transfer agreement, students transferring into Rutgers University–Newark from a community college with a completed and verified AA or AS degree will have completed 60 of the 120 credits and will be in junior standing. Rutgers University–Newark can accept up to 65 credits from NJ County Colleges and 90 credits from other 4-year universities or colleges. The university accepts a minimum of a "C" grade.

If you are transferring from out-of-state or a college/university not included in the NJ Transfer website, you should complete the admission application and work directly with the transfer staff in each of our schools/colleges regarding transfer credits:

Transcript Submission – How and where to submit transcripts

Final transcripts from past colleges/universities must be submitted for a detailed evaluation.
