The Office of Financial Aid with support from the Office of the Chancellor is offering the Raider Completion Grant (RCG). This grant focuses on empowering RU-N's many talented students, who have actively invested in their education, but had to take an academic break due an extenuating circumstance. The RCG is a one-time grant designed to assist undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree who have an outstanding university balance that is impeding their ability to return to academic pursuits at Rutgers University-Newark.
Eligibility & Governing Rules
Selection Process
Every submitted application will be reviewed on a first submission basis until funds are fully exhausted or the posted deadline date has passed.
Grants are awarded on the basis of academic records; how close you are to graduation outlined in an approved graduation plan, and you must owe a balance from a prior semester(s) that is preventing you from registering for classes at Rutgers University-Newark.
Grant amounts will vary and be determined by the committee based on the student's eligibility and extenuating circumstance but will not exceed $5,000 to resolve an open balance from a prior semester. Grants are considered a ‘last dollar’ award and must be used to pay existing charges on a student’s University account after all other awards are applied. Funds are limited and once the available funds have been awarded for a given fiscal year, no additional students may be considered.
