RESOLVING ISSUE WITH THE NEW FINANCIAL AID SYSTEM

Dear Rutgers Student,
As you may know, Rutgers University implemented a new financial aid system for the 2022-2023 academic year to streamline financial aid processes and improve the application experience for Rutgers students and parents. The new system allows students to view financial aid awards, submit required documentation, and accept, adjust, or decline federal loans in one easy-to-use portal. They also can grant access to the portal to their parents/guardians.
With the introduction of a new system comes unexpected obstacles. Unfortunately, some students have experienced issues with the new system that have impacted their ability to take action on their financial aid awards. We sincerely apologize for any confusion, frustration, or inconvenience this may have caused. Our team has placed the highest priority on resolving all issues related to this matter to provide Rutgers students with the quality of service and innovative technology they deserve.
University staff members are available to assist students with navigating the system and completing new processes. In addition, the Financial Aid Student Portal Library includes important information, user guides and videos. The library is updated frequently and is a great resource for students.
We are confident that this system will offer a simplified, user-friendly experience to students by supporting Rutgers staff in processing aid more efficiently. We are committed to providing a positive experience to Rutgers students and we appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.

TERM BILL & LATE FEE INFORMATION
August 15, 2022
Dear RU-N Students,
Fall 2022 online term bills are now available. Students may elect to enroll in a RU Payment Plan. Please note, the enrollment deadline for the 3-payment plan has been extended to August 9, 2022. Setting up a payment plan is not a requirement; you may make a direct payment onto your bill, as needed.
Please take notice that some students' fall 2022 online term bill may be unavailable due to updates in their fall 2022 financial aid packaging. Students who fall into this delayed billing group should have access to their semester bill early evening on August 23, 2022, and will be notified via their RU email account once their billing is available.
We recognize the challenges that may come with understanding financial aid and term bills with our new system which is why we are suspending the late fee and will work with students and families as best we can.
If you are part of the delayed billing group and require a payment plan, it is recommended that you sign up for either the 2 or 1 payment plan option upon receiving your bill. Ultimately, all payment plans share a final payment date, so you will not be penalized for not having access to the 3-payment plan.

To view your 2022-2023 financial aid awards:
- Log in at my.rutgers.edu
- Locate the “My Financial Aid” widget
- Go to the “Award” tab within the widget and click Award Detail and Information to access the Financial Aid Student Portal
- Click the “Financial” tab on the top menu to view your awards
