Rutgers University-Newark Students Impacted By Government Shutdown

Rutgers University- Newark students who have been impacted by the current government shutdown may request to extend the deadline to pay their term bill.

To request an extension, please email myrun@newark.rutgers.edu and include your name, school of enrollment, and your 9-digit RU ID number. If you have a Furlough Notice Letter, please attach it to your email message to us.

Students who have student loans are encouraged to reach out to their student loan providers to discuss the impact of the current furlough.  If you have other questions about Student Accounting and Financial Aid, please email myrun@newark.rutgers.edu, visit Blumenthal Hall 3rd Floor, or call 973-353-1766, Extension 1.

We understand that this furlough may not only cause unexpected interruptions in income, but added stress. We remind students that RU-N always has resources available for those who wish to seek support, including:
