You can apply to transfer to Rutgers University–Newark by completing an admission application.
- The priority application date for transfer students is October 1 for Spring admission and February 1 for Fall admission.
- For information on application fee/payment, GED, and other application requirement, please visit the Admissions website here. Beginning in Janaury 2022, Rutgers-Newark will not be requiring SAT and/or ACT for most students. Learn more by visiting the Office of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions site.

Using TrAC
The Transfer Academic Credit System (TrAC) will help you enter, track, and follow courses and credits from past colleges/universities and learn how they may transfer to Rutgers University–Newark. To help you use and understand TrAC, we have created a TrAC tutorial video and TrAC tutorial pdf.
After you enter your information into Transfer Academic Credit System (TrAC) and an academic advisor reviews your information, you can review your transfer credit evaluation to see how your courses and credits from your past college/university have transferred to Rutgers University–Newark. To help you understand the details of the transfer evaluation report, we have created a transfer evaluation guide sheet.
Sending Final Transcripts
Final transcripts from past colleges/universities must be submitted for a detailed evaluation.
