Spring 2023 New International Student Orientation

Congratulations and welcome to the Rutgers-Newark family!

We can’t wait to welcome you this Spring!

The International Student Orientation (ISO) will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 1 Washington Park, Newark, NJ 07102, Room 206. Please plan to arrive to the US by Thursday, January 12, 2023 unless your program requests you to arrive earlier.  Additionally, we will send you information to complete a virtual program prior to your arrival.

The International Student Orientation (ISO) is a mandatory program for all newly admitted students who are enrolling at Rutgers.

Please visit the OISS website for more details: https://myrun.newark.rutgers.edu/node/489

The ISO is an important component of your successful transition to Rutgers. Please note that even if you have studied in the U.S. in the past, you are expected to attend the program.

The Rutgers University, International Student Orientation program is designed to help you:

  • Learn about fulfilling your legal and visa status related obligations
  • Recognize the resources and tools available to you on campus
  • Connect with other new students and OISS staff

When you arrive on-campus, we will provide you with opportunities to take care of all essential tasks (such as getting your RUID, opening a bank account, getting a cell phone, and much more).

Again, congratulations on your decision to attend Rutgers! If you have additional questions, feel free to reach us at oiss@newark.rutgers.edu.

More information to come in the following weeks about orientation. Please check back for updates.
